Palmistry & Hasta Samudrika
The one reading that needs no birth time — the hand read as the chart written on the body.
The situation
Hasta Samudrika Shastra reads the hand the way a kundali reads the sky. The lines, the mounts below each finger, the shape of the palm and the set of the thumb are taken together — never a single line on its own, which is where most casual palm reading goes wrong.
Its real use is practical. A palm needs no date, no time and no place of birth, so it is the reading to take when your birth time is unknown or disputed, when a chart has already been read and something still does not fit, or when you want a second reading that does not simply repeat the first.
Take this reading when
- Your exact birth time is unknown, uncertain or disputed
- You want a reading that does not depend on records at all
- A kundali has been read and something in it does not match your life
- You want to understand temperament rather than events
- You are weighing a decision and want a second, independent view
- You would like the hands of a child or a prospective match read alongside the charts
Method
What Guruji reads in a hand
The four principal lines
Jeevan rekha, mastishk rekha, hriday rekha and bhagya rekha — the life, head, heart and fate lines. Depth, breaks, islands and branches are read together rather than one line in isolation.
The mounts
The raised pads beneath the fingers and thumb, each answering to a planet — Guru, Shani, Surya, Budha, Shukra, Mangal and Chandra. Their relative development shows where the nature is strong and where it is thin.
Hand shape and finger set
The proportion of palm to fingers, the flexibility of the thumb and the spacing of the fingers describe temperament — how a person decides, spends, holds a grudge, takes risk.
Both hands, read differently
The non-dominant hand is read for what was given; the dominant hand for what has been made of it. The difference between the two is often the most useful part of the sitting.
Cross-checked against the chart
Where a kundali is available, the hand is read against it. Agreement strengthens a reading; disagreement is worth examining rather than ignoring.
What you leave with
- A reading of the four principal lines and what they indicate
- Your dominant mounts, and the temperament they describe
- Where the two hands differ, and what that difference means
- Periods the hand marks as significant
- Remedies where the hand and chart agree one is called for
FAQ
Questions people ask
Do I need my birth details for a palm reading?
No. That is the point of it. Bring them if you have them and Guruji will read the hand against the chart, but a palm reading stands on its own without a date, time or place of birth.
Which hand is read?
Both. For a right-handed person the left is read for what was inherited and the right for what has been made of it. For a left-handed person it is reversed. The difference between the two hands is usually the most useful part.
Do the lines on my hand change?
Yes, and this is why a single reading is a snapshot rather than a verdict. Minor lines shift over years; the principal lines change slowly. A reading taken a decade ago should not be treated as current.
Can palmistry give exact dates the way a kundali does?
Not with the same precision. Timing on the hand is approximate, measured along the lines rather than calculated. When exact timing matters, the chart and its dasha sequence are the better tool, and Guruji will say so.
Can a palm reading be done online?
Yes, with clear photographs of both palms taken in daylight, plus a side view of each hand. Guruji will tell you if an image is not readable and ask for another rather than guess.
